Dr Lizelle Bernhardt

Current Role: Dr Lizelle Bernhardt is the Head of Nursing and Allied Health Professions Research in Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, an early post-doctoral nurse researcher and a NIHR Senior Research Leader (Nursing & Midwifery). Lizelle is passionate about the care of patients with cardiovascular disease and has extensive nursing experience.

Areas of Special Interest: Coronary care, cardiac intensive care, cardiac research, nuclear cardiology and as a community heart failure specialist nurse.

Areas of special interest:  Arrhythmia related topic: palpitations; Atrial Fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, syncope, pacemaker, defibrillator, Cardiac-synchronised therapy; digital health; self-management; life-style modification; cardiac research; gender inequality in health, menopause and cardiovascular disease. I am particularly interested in promoting professional nurses advocator and support the cardiac nurses in their carer progression.
